Interactive Brasta Tutorial
Work through a step-by-step Brasta lesson with card examples and short challenges. Practice matching captures, sum captures, builds, Jack sweeps, scoring, and Brasta detection.
The tutorial is designed for new players and can be revisited whenever a rule needs a refresher.
Basics: the table, hand, and turn
The 23-lesson path begins with the deck, four-card hands, and the one-card turn. Learn when to capture and when to trail, then see why collecting cards and collecting points are related but different goals.
Captures: match and sum
A same-rank match takes a table card immediately. A sum capture lets one number card take two or more loose cards whose values equal it. The examples show how to choose the legal group and how clearing the table creates tempo.
Royals and special cards
Queens and Kings capture only their own rank. Aces count as 1 for sums and award points when captured. The 2 of Clubs and 10 of Diamonds are scoring priorities worth tracking throughout the deal.
Builds and raised builds
Builds move value from the table into a future decision. Combine cards into a total, keep that total in your hand, and capture the build on a later turn. Raising a build increases its target only when you already possess the new matching card.
The Jack and Brasta
The Jack sweeps loose table cards but leaves builds untouched. Do not burn it on an empty table. A non-Jack capture that clears all loose cards is a Brasta worth +10; a Jack on a lone Jack is the +20 Double Brasta.
Scoring and mastery
The final lessons cover card majority, Club majority and sweep bonuses, Last Hand, defensive discards, card counting, and reading the opponent's likely reply. Short challenges provide immediate feedback as you learn.
